Intensive Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets struck the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to city authorities.

Area administrators said the city endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told the media that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
